Positive Motivations & Incentives
Seeing Stars
Each day stars are given to students by staff to acknowledge positive behaviors. Students place the stars in "star jars" in their classrooms. When a classroom fills its "star jar", they earn a classroom celebration. Examples of classroom celebrations have included wearing pajamas to school for a day, movies, pet show, time in the outdoor classroom, additional recess time, etc.

When a classroom fills its jar, it is also announced to the school with the morning announcements and a light bulb is lit up on the FCS board in the cafeteria. Once a letter (FCS) is completely lit up on the board, it signifies a school-wide celebration. Examples of school-wide celebrations have included an all school field trip to Common Ground, the winter carnival, and end of year field day.
